The Huntsville Concert Band, directed by Marsha Asquith, will present its Spring Concert on Tuesday, March 29, at 7:00 PM at Latham United Methodist Church, 109 Weatherly Road in Huntsville.
Our program for this performance will include music from Austria, Brazil, Cuba, France, Norway, and the US.
Robert M. Woosley, HCB principle trumpet, will be the featured soloist in Tico Tico by Zequinha de Abreu.
There is no admission fee. Plan to attend and bring a friend!
Founded in 1963 and officially organized as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization on November 8, 1966, The Huntsville Concert Band performs year-round at public events throughout northern Alabama. Recent concerts include Concerts In The Park, a Medal of Honor ceremony, the U.S. Space and Rocket Center's 30th Anniversary Celebration of the Apollo Moon Landing, and the All German Festival as part of Celebration 2000.
We have also been honored to perform at Huntsville Honor Flight departure and arrival celebrations, and annual Huntsville Veteran's Day and Memorial Day ceremonies.
A typical performance may include Sousa marches, patriotic music, classical selections, show tunes, Broadway musicals, ragtime, novelties, jazz, Dixieland, swing, and sing-a-longs.
